What is an Earthquake?
An earthquake is the sudden shaking or rolling of the earths surface. there are 20 tectonic plates on the earths surface which move continuously but very slowly past each other. When the plates squeeze or stretch, huge rocks begin to form at the edges and shift with great force, which can cause an earthquake. Earthquakes usually last less then one minute, but can be felt over large areas.
